i have been thinking about this for a while now.
people will die on you, sooner or later.
and the taught of my parents dying makes me restless.
i feel disturbed to even imagining post-parents-dying scenarios.
but still, people will die on you, sooner or later.

at the age of 12, or maybe even younger, my daddy was already earning money for his school fees.
at the age of 20, my mom was already earning on her own, and planning on her future family.
i am currently 21, the eldest child in my family, and ashamed to admit that i am still depending on my parents to continue living, everyday.
be it financially and in life decisions.
yes, i am ashamed. and i am scared.
what if my parents die on me before i even finish medical school?
how do i go on from there?
how am i to support my siblings?
eventually people will die on you, sooner or later.

GOD, FAMILY AND FRIENDS
when people walk out on you, what you have left are God, family and friends.
when your 'significant other' walks out on you, what you have left are God, family and friends.
GOD AND FAMILY
when your friends walk out on you, what you have left are God and family.
GOD
when your friends walk out on you, when your family disowns you,
what you have left is God.
when you don't believe in God, what else is left for you?
*****************
sometimes, people take family (let's consider a selected number of quality friends as family as well) for granted.
sometimes, they put forward other individuals before their own family.
sometimes, they put forward their 'significant other', listens to everything the 'significant other' says, ignoring their own family.
maybe these people have forgotten..
who gave birth to you?
who raised you up?
who put food on your table?
who struggled to give you enough lessons in school?
who struggled finding ways to make sure you get better from your sickness?
who struggled to make sure you get the best in life as you grew up?
who helped you the most when you were in trouble?
who stayed when others walk out on you?
your 'significant other' that you listen so attentively to?
that 'significant other' who you put forward so much before others who were already in your life before the 'significant other' came?
does your 'significant other' remind you that the world is temporary?
does your 'significant other' remind you to be steadfast in your faith, daily prayers and in doing good deeds?
'significant otherS' may come and go.
'significant otherS' may cheat on you.
you'll have a list of 'significant otherS' throughout your life.
to love others when it encourages more love towards God, masyaAllah, is a blessing.
does your 'love' towards your 'significant other' make you feel that way?
or is it more towards lust?
let's think together.. may Allah bless! :)
